Office of Emergency Management
The Office of Emergency Management provides for disaster preparations, response, recovery and mitigation activities to ensure that the needs of all the citizens of Sacramento are met in the event of a local emergency or disaster.
The Office coordinates the interdepartmental preparedness, planning, training and recovery activities of all City departments. It coordinates with other municipalities in the region as well as state and federal agencies, community based organization and the private sector. Along with the County, it operates a joint Emergency Operations Center that brings together all the public and private sector resources involved with response and recovery operations during and after an emergency or disaster.
