Sacramento- a two alarm fire damaged an apartment unit in Del Paso Heights last night. The fire was reported at 5:10 P.M. and Sacramento Firefighters were on scene 5 ½ minutes later. They encountered fire from a downstairs apartment unit with the fire threatening to spread to upstairs apartments. An aggressive Interior Fire Attack was made and the fire was extinguished within a few minutes.
Fortunately the residents of the apartment complex were not injured. One Sacramento Firefighter fell and suffered a possible arm fracture. The lone occupant of the apartment received assistance housing from the American Red Cross.
The fire appeared to have started in the kitchen and the cause is not confirmed but may have started near the stove and oven. Sacramento Metro Fire also responded.
