Sacramento- a three alarm fire tonight destroyed two Del Paso Heights homes and sent five Firefighters to area hospitals.
Sacramento Fire Department Firefighters responded to the reported structure fire a little after 5:00 P.M. tonight and when they arrived they found two homes heavily involved in fire. A second and third alarm was requested. Firefighters battled this stubborn fire in 100 degree heat.
A partial roof collapse injured one Firefighter and three others were transported for what appears to be heat exhaustion. All injuries are described as minor at this time.
Engine 20 is the first due Engine Company to this area, however due to budget issues, Engine 20 was on its scheduled “brown out” day. (It was closed.)
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. A total of four people have been displaced due to this fire. Sacramento Metro Fire Department Firefighters also assisted.
